Bit by bit... almost finished!

A three classroom school building was built in the community of Moulin Gouane to enable the community to have six classrooms for their school.
The construction
Concrete construction was used and it was accomplished under the leadership of a local boss along with some local men. The roof and school furniture were built under the leadership of a group of local carpenters. The participants worked alongside these men to accomplish the building of the school.
Facilitation of the team
The team was given two rooms at the school for accommodations. We also set up a kitchen and dining area in a large room at the school. The food was prepared by four local ladies from the community.
The children’s program was enjoyed by the children of the Moulin Gouane community. It was well structured and implemented.
We were able to offer several cultural experiences to the group in order for them to learn as much as possible about the local people and community. Spending the night in people’s homes was the highlight for the local people and I think a great experience for all those who visited the homes. Ending the project with a stay at Fermathe and being able to souvenir shop was a great way to finish the project.
Transportation
Thankfully we were able to use the bus that the mission owns to transport the team to Atrel and back. While they were in Atrel we used a large truck to transport them to and from the job site each day.
Safety / Field Security Plan
Throughout the entire project the team was safe and we took every security measure we felt necessary.
Cooperation with World Servants leadership team
It was a privilege to work with the leadership team of this project. Initially we were a little concerned since they were a relatively young group of leaders, but they did amazing. They each really showed how capable they were for their area of responsibility and were excellent leaders. All the members of the leadership team were very flexible and adapted well to the situation in Atrel.
Future perspective
As the classrooms are completed, the school will be able to offer learning environment to the students since they will now have separate classes for the grade 1-6. BHM has started a sponsorship program with this school, hoping to continue to improve the level of education offered.
