Update on Makonje borehole

Project update van 18 augustus 2020 door Mussa Nyirenda

Excitement in the community as they finally have portable water

The community of Makonje has been struggling with portable water for a long time. They used to draw water from swamps and unsafe wells. Thanks to the Government through the Constituency Development Fund that they have now been given a borehole which has been drilled within the school premises. This means that for the first time in history the community will have safe water to drink. This also means that teachers can now come to the school to stay as the major challenge which has been affecting teachers to stay at the school has been water. Despite that the borehole can not carter for the community but the community is very excited because at least their children and teachers will have access to safe water. This will also attract teachers to come and teach at the school.
