Nicaragua blijft verbazen. Deze keer doet de Woord en Daad-groep verslag van een dag sightseeing. Niet iedereen kwam helemaal schoon thuis...
Tuesday 18th July 2017
Slept in this morning!! Till 7am. The bus was right on time and off we went for a day sightseeing.
First on the agenda. A visit to Las Isletas in two boats. Las Isletas is a series of Islands on one of which were some monkeys!! These monkeys had a preference for handfed butterscotch lollies over and above dropjes. What an experience!! Bats and birds were also spotted on the tour.
After that we went to Granada and walked around looking at many of the churches there and trying our hand at haggling by the many stalls dotted along the streets. Then burgers and omelets for lunch after waiting for an hour. Plates were in short supply. I dont think they ever have such big numbers of diners in one sitting!!
Unfortunately one unlucky young lady was standing in the wrong place a the wrong time. A bird doesnt check below before relieving itself!
Then on to another very large Roman Catholic Church. A sort of market square was also there to go and look at. Then the same unlucky young lady and one other of the group stood right in some fresh cement. What was there for warning?? A few bits of broken pavers in the same colour around it. Okay oops. We left our signature there. Then back to the bus and off to Lake Apoyo. “That man over there, he was by the boats also this morning!”exclaimed someone. “Ja, he is our bus driver” was the reply. Always good to have a laugh. The place was primitive but the water was so nice and warm and relaxing. Around 6pm we left to go back to our favourite meal!! THis time we were served Chicken IN Rice with salad on the side. A bit of variety.
After dinner some went to bed and the rest sat down for Bible Study about David and Bathsheba and Repentance and Forgiveness of sins.
So ended Day 9 of our stay!
